Swinging Europe and the European Broadcasting Union present the EJO

Every Spring  the Danish-based organization Swinging Europe puts together a European jazz big band tour under the name of the European Jazz Orchestra - EJO. Each year a new conductor, new compositions and a new line-up of handpicked musicians, aged 18-30, go on new adventures, following new itineraries. Since the start of the EJO in 1998, the band toured in 33 countries in Europe, North and South America and in Asia.  The EBU Big Band, supported by the EU, has had a huge impact on the global jazz scene, presenting a wide range of renowned jazz personalities at various concert halls, clubs and festivals all over Europe.

In 2010 Oleksandr Beregovskyy, a famous Ukrainian percussionist and member of the Alex Fokin Radio Band, joined the EJO and successfully toured the countries from Denmark to Slovenia.

Moreover, in September 2010 Ukrainian Radio held preliminary negotiations with the EBU and Swinging Europe and gained the right to be co-organizer of EJO 2012 concerts in Kyiv.
